You in 52 - Week 3

I can't believe I'm on week 3. I didn't think I'd get past week 1!

The question....."If you could have changed one thing about yourself what would it be?"

I'm 5' 1". You figure it out. LOL!

Journaling reads...
"I suppose when I was young, I wanted to change a lot of things about myself. Now that I'm on the down swing, it doesn't seem so important anymore. I am who I am. I just wish I had been a little bit taller...not much...just about 2" - 3".

Then my 5'8" friends wouldn't hover over me. My 6'4" fiance wouldn't have dwarfed me. I'd be able to reach the top shelf without standing on my toes, or pulling out a chair. I wouldn't have had to roll my sleeves up or hem my pants. I wouldn't have worn 4" heels...or would I?

Yes, I would, because the world looks a little less daunting when you're a little bit taller."

All About You in 52 - Week 2

Align Left

When I grow up, I wanna be an old woman.

Hidden journaling reads: "I loved to read and I loved movies. I wanted to be any of the heroines in the books I read, but mostly I wanted to be Ginger Rogers in Fred Astaire's arms. I never found my Fred, but I can still dance...so when I grow up, I wanna be an old woman."

Inspiration for my layout came from this great ad...I wish I could attach it to the layout!

RAK #1 Winner

I put the numbers in the random number generator and out popped #5, Melissa from Raising Dylan . Congratulations, Melissa. Please email me (you can find my email addy in my profile) with the address you want me to send the albums to. Thanks for playing!

RAK #2

This week's RAK is this beautiful pink never-been-used crop bag. Okay, I used it once...but only once. It's like new...and it's big! I love this bag! Unfortunately, I don't use it...don't have anywhere to take it....no crops going on in my neck of the woods and I don't want to just store stuff in it. But someone else might have a crop to go to, or need some more storage.....

Let me hear from you! Random number drawing next Friday.

Thanks for stopping by!

All About You in 52 - Week 1

The first week's assignment was to create a layout about the most influential person in your life. Well, there she is.....and I've been scrapping books about her for a long time. Books with little or no journaling. Books with pictures of her before I was even born. She had such a hard life that I think I like the old pictures best, because she was happy then. As the journaling says, I wish I could tell her that I now understand....just as she always told me I would.

One Little Word

Last year I noticed a lot of bloggers posting their "word" for the year. The idea looked pretty simple, although I didn't really examine the whys or wherefores of the chosen word. One doesn't always pay a lot of attention to things they know nothing about until someone they know is doing it. Then your interest gets sparked. Kind of like....."hey, what's she doin' over there? What's she got that I don't have? Oh, she's got a WORD? I want a word! Sound familiar? Aw, c'mon, fess up! Y'all want a scraproom now don't ya? Remember how happy you were with that little corner in the basement? Or the dining room table? The nightstand in your bedroom? And then you saw those pictures of the room. Yeah, that's what I'm talkin' 'bout.

Let me tell ya, Ali Edwards is in on this. She's been doin' it since 2007. I'm not sure if she started it or not. I can't quite tell what came first, Ali's word or the web site.. One Little Word . Of course I haven't really delved into this because I've already made up my mind that I'm going to have a word. And my word is:

S M I L E

Everyone needs a smile so I'm going to give them mine. I think that will make ME feel a whole lot better!

Back to Scrapping and a little RAKing

There's so much you can do with scrapbooking, so many projects, clubs, message boards, Layout-A-Day, Photo-A-Day, etc., etc. I just read about another one at Erika's blog that I think is great... The Gratitude Project. I'd love to do this....of all people, I think I SHOULD do this, but I know I can only do so much and I've already decided to do Debby's Dares, All About You in 52. It should probably be called "A Soul Searching We Will Go", but it also sounds like fun. I just don't see myself scrapping a page a week..........hmm. So if you need another project, check these out. They both sound like winners!

As reported previously, I've done some housekeeping, a little bit of cleaning here and there, some organizing and major purging. I can't believe the things I found that I haven't used in at least a year.....and they must go! All of the items I have are in 100% top notch condition, used once or twice, or not at all. I'm more than happy to GIVE them to other scrappers and will RAK an item each week until I run out.

The first item I have is a set of Donna Downey tag/envelope albums.....actually, one book is missing but none of the embellishments that came with the set have been used. They're all intact. If you're interested in the set, leave a message in this post and I'll pick a name at the end of the week. The winner will receive the albums and a little extra something that I'll throw in because I really love giving things away!

Have a great week everyone, and thanks for stopping by!

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone survived the night-before and there aren't too many headaches out there....or accidents! Unfortunately, Noel Joy's hubby crossed paths with a drunk driver last night and ended up in the ER. Geez, how scary can that be....and yet, there they were making funny faces while Stan lay on a backboard in the hospital. I think those two really appreciate life!

I've been doing a little housekeeping and organizing over the holidays and I have a few goodies that I really want to RAK. Goodies like a Making Memories eyelet setter that I never use since I bought the Crop A Dile, some CK Books, some pocket and tag albums that I think I got from Donna Downey, and a great crop bag that I used only once. I hope I can find new homes for them all with you happy scrappers. I'll be starting that next week so stay tuned.

Free CK Mags!
I have CK issues galore if anyone wants them. I believe I have 2005 through 2008, so if you're looking for a back issue, I've probably got it. I'm willing to send as few or as many as anyone wants if you will pay the postage....or even split it. Whatever is left over will go to the recycle bin, so contact me by the end of the month if you're interested. You can email me at frasier2(at)verizon(dot)net. If you don't know what to do with that addy, just remove (at) and insert @. Remove (dot) and insert . I do this so the little spider engines don't scoop up my email addy and send me even more spam than I already have.

I've also changed my decor, as you can see. Thought the front entrance needed a little something other than tumbling tumbleweeds, so I took a few pictures and this is the one that works for now. I decided that I like the new background too....think I'll keep it around for a while.

Happy New Year again. May it be safe, sane and peaceful.
