This project is so cute. These are old cd's that I'm scrapping and making into a cd ring for my 10 year old (grand) niece. I got this great idea from Voodoo Vixen,,, found some pics on her Flickr site and fell in love with them!

I'm also working on a mini album for Frasier that I started way back when. I plan on getting this finished any day now...you betcha.

And I REALLY want to make an altered book now that I've watched the cd from Paperclipping that Noell Hyman and Dedra Long put together. I LOVED the cd...I wanted it to go on and on, I wanted to see more and learn more. I so love seeing what other people create. I love looking through galleries online, I love seeing all the scraprooms, the cards, the gifts. What a great hobby this is. Anyway....if you have an interest in making an altered book but don't know where to begin, or even if you DO know where to begin, this is the cd for you. It's over an hour long, has a ton of tips in it, and you get to watch Dedra and Noell as they actually work on their books. It's pretty cool, kids.

I've added another link to my favorites! Scrap Happens Here

I first noticed Annette (otherwise known as Voodoo Vixen) on one of the message boards. She posted a mini album that caught my eye, and I followed a link to her blog...which I've been following ever since. Not only is she a gifted scrapper, but she's one of the original Zutter Sisters, the design team for the Bind It All, which she's very crafty with! She makes some very clever albums and gifts, one of which I'm attempting to create in the above photo. Can you guess what I'm using?

I find her blog interesting on so many levels. I adore her work, her writing style, and the glimpses into her life in Saudi Arabia!

Maybe I should get dressed now...

It's 12:30 pm and I'm still not dressed. I've been sitting here all morning playing around on the computer, downloading podcasts from Paperclipping and loving it! I've been watching the free versions of paperclipping live for two years, but haven't signed up to be a premium member until now...something to do with work and time...not money, because the membership is very affordable and well worth the money.

Gotta tell ya, Noell's video's rock. Oh yeah, and that Izzy guy that produces the vids....he ain't so bad either! (I think he knows what he's doing!)

Happy Birthday to Me!

It's hard to believe, but this little girl is 62 years old! OMG!! She was so cute! If you look real close you can see how crooked my bangs were! I Love the Graphic 45 paper...it really lends itself to these old black and white photos.

I'll be shopping with my sister today at The General Store, probably stop by Tarjay, and then lunch at The Market Broiler. Yum.

It doesn't feel right to blog without a picture or a layout, but I have neither at the moment. I seem to be traveling in circles, picking up stuff along the way and dropping it off around the bend, only to pick it up again the next time around. Ever had days like that? Nothing gets done....even with the best of intentions. This pic is from last year. Will you all be thinking it's old news? It's like...SO last year? That I'm old and lazy and uncool for posting the same pic twice? sigh

I signed up for a scrap class last Saturday but had to cancel because I was meeting relatives in San Diego. Then I went to San Diego and forgot my camera. Speaking of my camera,,,I signed up for an online class with Candice Stringham that started 3 weeks ago....I'm 0 for 3 in the lessons so far. And I'm still trying to cram 900+ sq.ft. of furniture, knick knacks, scrapcrap and other good stuff into 530 sq.ft. Boy, could I give the developer of this place an earful. I've had to get rid of a chest of drawers, a love seat, my beautiful French Provincial coffee table and end tables, my china cabinet and other assorted pieces. Now, what to do with everything that was IN or ON those pieces I no longer have?!

I also signed up for a circuit training program similar to Curves but for older adults. Ha!!! I've BEEN to Curves before and this place kicks ASS compared to Curves....it kicks ASS compared to Butterfly Life....it kicks ASS compared to 24 Hour Fitness, Linda Evans, etc. etc. etc. Okay, maybe it just kicked MY ass, but man, can I feel it! So each Tuesday and Thursday I'll be shuffling over to the center for an hour of what can only be described as bootcamp.

I'm considering changing the url for my blog as I no longer live in the sand pit. The obvious url would be thescrappit but some scrap (not booking) company already claimed that one, and it's been sitting idle since 2005. poop.

I've added another link to my favorite blogs....Erin Lincoln...see her over there on the side bar? Procrastination Station I so enjoyed her when she was the guru of the message boards at CK...everyone did. It's good to have her back blogging again...!

Enough about me. What's new with you?

I'm so jazzed! I found a link on Donna Salazar's website to a scrapbook store down the street from me. That means I'm right smack in the middle of two LSS...the first one being the one I used to go to before I moved to the desert, and the second being this new one. This is SO COOL! They both have crops and classes, and I've really missed having all that fun when I was gone. Today I signed up for three classes and the first one is Saturday. I think Donna's class is in November. Definitely worth taking just to meet her.
